On Tuesday, LA County
Sheriff Alex Villanueva declared
gun stores as nonessential businesses and said he will force them to close. This
comes as the Sherriff, who seems to care more about criminals than allowing the
public to protect themselves, announced he will be releasing 1,700 inmates from
The Sheriff, who seems to think he is some kind of mini dictator that can suspend constitutional rights, is also the Director of Emergency Operations, meaning he is the number one person in charge during a crisis like the coronavirus. All FEMA requests go through him, and all National Guard requests go through him.
I along with @GavinNewsom , thank all Californians for honoring the executive order signed by the Governor last week, #SaferAtHome. Public safety is my priority. Under the Governor’s order, only essential businesses (food/prescriptions/health care) are to remain open.

The Sheriff sent a
letter to the Board of Supervisors declaring that he is taking the
reigns and all messaging will go through him now. When speaking to reporters on
the gun store issue, the Sherriff said “We will be closing them, they are not
an essential function,” Villanueva said. “I’m a supporter of the 2nd amendment,
I’m a gun owner myself, but now you have the mixture of people that are not
formerly gun owners and you have a lot more people at home and anytime you
introduce a firearm in a home, from what I understand from CDC studies, it
increases fourfold the chance that someone is gonna get shot.”
Remember, this Sherriff is freeing 1,700 criminals from the prison system while at the same time telling the public that you are the threat for buying a gun to protect yourself!
BREAKING: LA County Sheriff tells me he is beginning to close county gun stores immediately. Deputies are currently going to the stores one by one to order them shut down. Sheriff to utilize scofflaw violations for any gun store still open after he deemed them nonessential @FOXLA

The Los Angeles County
Sheriff’s Department says they have visited every gun store in its jurisdiction
to ensure they were closed after the governor ordered the shut down of all
Villanueva said he would hit gun store owners with scofflaw violations if they are found to be flouting the orders put in place by Newsom. Deputies will investigate each gun store “one by one” to ensure they are closed.
Last week The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), America’s trade association for the firearm, ammunition, hunting, and recreational shooting sports industries, asked the Department of Homeland Security to designate the firearm and ammunition industry as a “National Critical Infrastructure Industry” after gun stores were being forced to close around the country.
Prepare for Coronavirus-related Chaos
We are hearing reports from around the country of people being robbed while leaving grocery stores, which makes sense since some areas of the country like in Philadelphia have now announced that they are no longer arresting people for offenses as serious as burglary and auto theft during the “coronavirus” crisis.
In Las Vegas, Nevada, the police formed a special task force — no, it wasn’t to go after criminals or protect the public from increased crime during this Coroanvirus crisis – the taskforce was to go after small business owners who failed to listen to the Governor’s order to shut down. That same Nevada Governor, actually banned outdoorsmen — some of whom were out of work and fishing to feed their families – from fishing in Lake Mead National Park.
Hysteria and panic can make people unpredictable, and even turn the neighbor you thought was your friend against you! Now that Sheriffs and government officials have prioritized letting prisoners out of jail over your safety and ability to protect yourself, we all need to be on alert!

If you can stay away from stores, I would do so for awhile and use services like Amazon Fresh, Bulk Emergency Foods, or Amazon Grocery.
